When do I need immobilizer removal instead of an ECU clone?
Immobilizer removal is typically used when reprogramming or matching keys isn't possible or desired — for example, a standalone/off-road build, a junkyard ECU with no matching key, or a lost/damaged key situation. If you want your replacement ECU to retain your original vehicle's identity and work with your existing key, our ECU Clone Service is usually the better fit.

Will this cause a check engine light or fault code?
Removing the immobilizer eliminates the immobilizer-related fault codes (such as a failed key handshake) that a mismatched or unpaired ECU would otherwise throw.
